Lewisham CCG

“Lewisham CCG has worked really well with MutualGain over the past couple of years to develop successful public engagement processes.

MutualGain helped us to facilitate, ‘Your Voice Counts’. An event involving 120 members of the public in discussions to develop our strategy for providing care to people outside of hospital settings.

Last December, we recruited 13 members of the public to form a Public Reference Group (PRG) to work closely with the CCG to ensure that the work we deliver is open, transparent and in the overall interest of Lewisham residents. MutualGain’s support has been instrumental in facilitating development of a group identity, highlighting the skills and experiences members bring to the group, and increasing their confidence to participate. The PRG has achieved most of its development goals, and is on course to fulfil its role as the patient voice at the heart of our governance structure.”

Cheshire East Public Health

“We have worked closely with MutualGain to develop a local Participatory Budgeting programme across Cheshire East to improve the Public Health outcomes of our citizens.  We have been impressed by their expertise and knowledge in the development of innovative approaches and solutions to engage and empower our strongest assets, our local communities ‘people’.”

Early Intervention Foundation

“MutualGain provided useful practical input into the EIF Early Intervention Academy for Police Leaders. Sue and Andy ran workshop on community engagement approaches in policing which helped the academy delegates to think about how they could develop their local approaches and learn from examples elsewhere in the country. They also provided useful facilitation of action learning sessions helping delegates structure their thinking and ideas into concrete plans that they could take forward.”

Police

West Midlands Police

“MutualGain have created a buzz in Local Policing in West Midlands Police!!!

We now understand exactly what it means to ‘engage’ with local people and we now have the tools, skill and support to go and encourage the communtiy to get involved where they live.

Andrew, Sue and the team have given us a new perspective, changed our behaviours and unleashed our potential. The officers, partners and citizens that came together for the training all think differently about how we deliver our services locally.

The answers, solutions and resources are all in the community.  We now have the skills to unlock it!

Building capacity through an asset based approach is the way forward to reducing demand on public services.”

Sgt Kym Jones

Durham Constabulary

“I have been working with MutualGain since January 2014.  MutualGain and the learning package has improved not only the service offered to the community by members of Durham Police, but has been an instrumental part of changing lives within the local areas.

Our own project in the Seaham area has been ongoing since January 2014. The project is well established and has allowed both local adults and children the chance to make decisions about the growth and wellbeing of their own community. It has offered financial investment experience, and learning to individuals who, without the project would have remained silent members of what used to be a decaying community.

On a personal note MutualGain has taken me on a journey of self-discovery and development that has led to opportunities and learning at both a national and international level. The programme has without a doubt been of huge benefit to all involved.”
